Wish List

The Food Center at MPC needs your help. Every bit of assistance we receive goes to help a family from not having to choose between much needed medications or food – or heat in the winter or food – or paying the rent or a mortgage and food. These are trying and hard times in our home towns, states, countries, and world. The need for helping others is critical. Please give serious consideration to helping us help others by donating the items we have here on our wish list.

More funds to purchase food Food donations
A supply of new produce bags and ties A supply of new quart-sized Ziploc bags
A supply of food handling gloves A supply of paper grocery bags (preferably 1/6 weight, 12" x 7" x 17")
A supply of plastic grocery bags Reusable grocery totes
Office supplies such as packing tape; pens; masking tape Personal Folding grocery carts
Portable roller conveyor system

Our wish list may look small to you. But when one takes into consideration that we use about 140 paper grocery bags and 500 plastic bags each week for our clients to carry home their groceries, our needs become obvious. We would like to reduce this significant amount of paper and plastic bags we use by encouraging our clients to keep and use strong re-usable totes that typically sell for 99 cents at grocery stories.

Some of our clients are elderly and have to walk to the church to get food. Your donation of a little folding grocery cart would be much appreciated by someone who might hurt themselves by carrying bags of groceries 3/4- of a mile or more.

You can always donate a bag of groceries once a month.  We have a suggested grocery list to help you shop. The grocery list is at the bottom of the page.

If you have a group, please consider volunteering at our Food Center. Your group could help us bag food, do client intake, or help folks as they select food. We would appreciate your help.

One last thought. You might be a part of a group that can hold a food drive. We can give you some suggestions on how to organize an easy to do food drive with your friends, club, community, or church. Please call for more information.
